FAQ
1. What is auri studio and how does it work?
auri studio offers a blend of intuitive movement and compassionate counselling designed to help you connect with your body, emotions, and inner self. Sessions focus on embodiment, self-exploration, and personal insight, rather than traditional talk therapy alone.
2. How is this different from traditional therapy?
auri studio integrates movement as a key part of self-discovery, unlike traditional talk therapy. While counselling supports reflection and emotional processing, movement allows you to feel and express what words sometimes cannot, providing a more holistic and embodied experience.
3. How is this different from Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT)?
auri studio draws inspiration from movement-based practices but is not a clinical Dance/Movement Therapy programme. The sessions are non-clinical, flexible, and intuitive, focusing on personal growth, emotional awareness, and connection with your body rather than structured therapeutic interventions.
4. What can I expect to gain from the sessions?
Clients often experience:
Greater awareness of their body and emotions
New ways to express and process feelings
Insight into personal patterns and behaviours
A sense of groundedness, energy, and confidence in moving through life
5. Who are these sessions suitable for?
auri studio welcomes adults of all genders, backgrounds, and movement abilities. No prior experience in therapy or movement practices is required. Sessions are tailored to each person’s comfort level and personal goals.
6. How many sessions do I need?
The number of sessions depends on your goals and how deeply you want to engage with the process. At auri studio, there are three main approaches:
Grounding sessions – 1-month package (1:1)
For those who want to explore weekly support over a short period. A steady rhythm helps you build trust with yourself and the process.Exploration sessions – 6-month package (1:1)
For those ready to dive deeper into a longer journey. Weekly sessions provide a stable, continuous space for discovery, growth, and unfolding patterns.Flow sessions – Flexible 1:1 support
For those who prefer flexibility. Pay-as-you-go sessions let you come when you need a grounding, reflective space.
7. Are the sessions covered by insurance?
I work as an independent practitioner and have chosen not to affiliate with Dutch health insurance providers. This allows me to remain fully focused on serving you without limitations from third parties. If you have international or private insurance, please check with your provider to see whether sessions may be partially reimbursed.
8. Do I need to be physically fit to participate?
No. Movement exercises are gentle, intuitive, and adapted to each client’s abilities. The focus is on feeling and awareness, not performance or fitness.
9. How do I prepare for a session?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Bring an open mind and a willingness to explore your body and emotions. No prior experience in movement or therapy is required.
10. Can I attend online or only in person?
Sessions are ideally held in person, but online sessions are available if attending in person is not possible.
11. How is confidentiality handled?
All sessions are private. Notes taken for your personal progress are stored securely and are not shared with third parties.
12. Can I combine auri studio sessions with traditional therapy or other wellness practices?
Yes! auri studio sessions can complement other forms of therapy, counselling, or wellness practices, enhancing self-awareness and body connection.
